Design sharing policies

Our digitized embroidery designs, either purchased on CD or as a digital download, MAY NOT be sold, traded, shared, given away, or included in any design set. This includes purchasing with the intent to copy and share with your family or friends. You may not use ANY portion of our design or our exclusive artwork as a basis to create a new design and call it your own.

Purely Gates Embroidery creates all the design collections. Many hours of time and talent have gone into creating these patterns to bring you unique, high-quality designs at extremely affordable prices. Please respect our work.

You may NOT get together with your friend or relative to "go in on" designs or make a purchase together to achieve a tiered discount price. This is sharing and is strictly prohibited within our terms of use. We work very hard to keep our prices low to make our designs affordable to everyone. Please purchase your own design set.

Please note that we will not respond to emails with order issues in which two parties split the purchase with the intent of sharing designs.

We reserve the right to immediately and without notice terminate repeat and future downloading abilities to any account holder who is known to be sharing designs. ALL design downloads will be terminated. Our designs are available for instant download upon purchase. We are not required to provide indefinite and unlimited downloads. We do so for convenience. Therefore, those violating our terms of use will lose those abilities.

You may not alter designs and call them your own or sell the altered designs. You may, of course, edit the designs for your own personal use at your own risk of outcome.

By purchasing our designs, you are purchasing a LICENSE to use them. Only the actual purchaser of the designs holds this license. This license is NON-transferable. You may not at any time, pass the files to anyone else for any reason without the express written permission from Purely Gates Embroidery. The designs and all copyrights therein belong to Purely Gates Embroidery and are protected under international copyright laws.

Copyright policy

Embroidery design files obtained from Purely Gates Embroidery may be used freely to place embroidery designs on personal effects and/or garments. Items which are embroidered and sold commercially is limited to 50 per design.

However, it is a condition of this End User License Agreement that you do not resell the embroidery design files to, or for use by, another individual, company, or other entity, nor altered them for purposes of reselling.

You may not sell, resell, or otherwise further distribute the embroidery design files in any form, manner or medium (including by email, upload, post, or any other means, whether electronic or not). You may not copy, reproduce, modify, alter, republish, create derivative works, represent as your own, or otherwise exploit the embroidery design files for purposes or reselling.
You may not share, trade, or otherwise transfer the embroidery design files to another party. This includes copying and sharing with friends or family. Each user must purchase their own design set. You may not share download links/codes with anyone. This is considered a form of sharing and distributing. Download activity and download links/codes utilized are automatically tracked and monitored according to customer's name, IP address, etc. Download links/codes observed to be submitted from multiple, different computers will be disabled and further purchasing rights will be suspended for individual users.

Design files used to place embroidery designs on items for sale must be purchased. This means that designs obtained free of charge (including free designs) may only be used for experimental purposes, inspection of quality, or for placing embroidery designs on personal items which are not sold commercially.

Copyright of Embroidery Designs: All embroidery designs and embroidery design files available at this site, whether purchased or obtained free of charge (including free designs), are owned by Purely Gates Embroidery, under copyright, and protected under U.S. and international copyright laws. The act of copying the embroidery designs and distributing them in any fashion is not permitted, is a copyright violation, and is consequently illegal. However, it is permissible that the embroidery design files be copied for sole purposes of maintaining a backup in the event of computer crash or loss of the original.

Copyright of Embroidery Design Graphics: All graphic images of embroidery designs displayed at this site, are owned by or licensed to Purely Gates Embroidery, under copyright, and protected under U.S. and international copyright laws. The graphics and/or artwork may not be used as part of any process to create an embroidery design or embroidery design file. The act of copying the graphics or images and utilizing them in any fashion is not permitted, is a copyright violation, and is consequently illegal.
